My friends may say I am loopi and lusty. I think I am complicated enough to make me interesting. I am self confesed trend watcher and style-ist!...this Blog is all about supporting local and upcoming talent & all the things I love doing in the hope that my stories will have a positive influence in your life or at least cheer you up. I will sometimes include some pretty pictures for you to enjoy together with what is now known as "Kati-isms" or "Spanglish".

It’s been almost three months since I meet Mr Fancy - Ian from ¡YaBasta!Photography photography and week in and week out he helps making my blog look lovely by taking pictures for me. I often get him to do crazy things and sometimes he is the source of inspiration for many of the photo shoots.

This week Mr fancy’s lovely work is on display at our favorite coffee shop…Ugee’s. This is the place where Ian and I first saw one another and with a little bit of help from Chrissy and Ollie finally meet…

This show is a bit different from anything I have seen before…Ian is doing something I have never seen done before. He is asking those who are interested in purchasing one if his work to name the price.

It’s so good to see that in a world where all beautiful things cost money we are able to come across little pockets of kindness such as this. Ian’s work can be purchased by you and anyone else you know and you can pay whatever you think its worth to you…

I have a new job…
I am the store manager of Cue at the Wintergarden & I get to play with pretty clothes all day long. I started about a week ago and I love it. As you know I lOVE clothes…so when I got the job I was like Yeeeesssssssssssssssssssssss!
So here is a little update on what’s going at Cue.This season’s range is filled with bright colors and lots and lots of very SITC looks.
I have to say that the best part it’s when new stock arrives and I am the first person that gets to see and feel the garments. It’s like x-mas!
My favorite item so far is a pair of black studded leggings that arrived today. I can see that these little gems will go out the door in no time.
Another is a pair of removable shoulder pads that I know will become addictive! I think I may try and put them on every outfit I wear for a week just to prove how versatile shoulder pads can be…
Not everything is high street though…there is lots and lots of lovely dresses that channel France’s first lady or even Victoria Beckahm. Perfect for work!
I have included some pictures from the latest Harper’s Bazaar magazine that arrived in the mail today…(thanks to my lovely friends at Suncorp I get this delivered to my door every month) I was so happy to see that the peeps in the Marketing area at Cue have been very busy putting together some of the campaign items appearing in this issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

(APT6)

Some weeks ago my man friend and I checked out the the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT6) and it was FUN!

Not only the APT6 includes the work of more than 100 artists from 25 countries, including collaborations and collectives, which reflect the diversity of practices across Asia, the Pacific and Australia also has some really cool activities for the kids (or kids at heart)

It was cool (air-conditioner cool) and fun and if you have nothing to do tomorrow during Australia Day please check it out…you will love it!

I have included some pics for you to check out…we had loads of fun making the patterns of infinity and if you want to have a go make sure you visit the kids section of the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art.

A bag full of kindness…

A few weeks ago my friend Liz gave me a bag full of clothes that her sister Ana had given to her to giveaway after she had cleaned her room. It was just like Xmas all over again… amongs the goodies there was a fab Akira pink top and some super funky black Tina Borg pants that I proudly wore to Lyrics Born concert last week.

I feel like I have a brand new set of clothes that I look forward to wear and I can not believe that such a little simple act of kindness could make me so happy so I decided to do the same.

It wasn’t easy… as you know I am very attached to my clothes and can remember the first time I wore each item and to what event so you can imagine how hard it was for me to actually get going on the “keep” and “toss’ bags.

Every time I went into my room to start the culling process I would  think about how lovely each item was and how maybe…I could loose some weight and wear it again or turn them into a skirt or something else that I could wear but eventually I managed to convince myself that this is a good thing and that I would feel so much lighter afterwards…

Once I got going I could not stop and managed to fill 5 bags full of clothes but not without trying them on one last time and saying goodbye to it like you do an old friend that must go on another journey…

Chao Juanita…the Sasha Drake dress I wore to the Camp Quality charity event that I went to with my friend Liz. That was the first time we ever hang out and have been best friends ever since that day.

Chao Downtown…I wore that black and white floral dress many years ago after someone had broken my heart and I wanted to look good to hide how I really felt. As it turned out I must have looked good because I got stopped on the street by a in Style magazine fashion editor and made it into the street fashion editorial.

Chao Pretty Woman…haaa that famous red dress I wore to another charity event were I helped raise money just by selling ruffle tickets at the door.

I cant believe I am saying chao to my Sasha Drake white dress…I never wore it but I know I most probably never will so I am saying goodbye too.

My lovely partner Ian was happy to take some photos so I could have them as memories and also so I could share them with you. You can even see me wearing that famous Box Vintage petticoat that I never got to wear except for this photo shoot.

The first lucky girl to get dips on the bags is my old dear friend Maria and to see her happiness as she tried the items she liked on was enough for me to know that sometimes the best things in life really are for free…I was happy to see her facebook update a few days later showing that I had inspired her to do the same and was giving some of her own things away to charity.

A few days later I droped a few other bits and peaces off to my favorite barista from Ugess at West End and again was happy to see her face light up with her smile when she told me that her and her flat mate had had a fab time trying the clothes on the night before…

As I write this I still have the four dresses featured in the photo shoot hanging on my clothes rack not because I am not giving them away but because they need to go somewhere they will be cherished just like I do but most of all they need to be worn so if you like to have them just e-mail me…

I hope I have inspired you to do the same…I can not explain how fulfilling such a simple act of kindness can be.
